Back to nature (in culture) [co-related, means] back to animism?
“Animism” is projected in the literature as simple religion and a failed epistemology, to a large extent because it has hitherto been viewed from modernist perspectives. Animistic ideas operate with in the context of social practices, with attention to local constructions of a relational person-hood and to it relationship with ecological perception of the environment, frame what they are concerned about as their authoritative (but not only) way to know things. (Bird-David, 1999).
